RentalWe ("we") publishes rentalwe.net. This page explains what the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not sell anything to you directly. Most visitors give us nothing but an anonymous page view. The exceptions are the contact form, the newsletter, and the cookies our advertising and analytics partners set — all covered below.

Who is responsible

This site is operated by Tra Ly, an individual based in Da Nang, Vietnam, who decides how the data described here is used. You can reach us at hello@rentalwe.net. If you are in the UK or the EEA, that address is also where to send a data subject request.

What we collect

When you just read. Our advertising and analytics partners set cookies and receive your IP address, approximate location, device and browser details, and which pages you visited. We receive this only in aggregate, through reports.

When you use the contact form. Your name, your email address, and what you wrote. We keep it for as long as the conversation is useful and then delete it.

When you subscribe to the newsletter. Your email address, the date you confirmed, and whether you are still subscribed. Nothing is recorded until you click the confirmation link. The list is held and issues are sent by Resend, Inc. (United States), which processes addresses on our behalf and nothing else. Your address is held for as long as you stay subscribed; when you unsubscribe — from the link in any issue, or your mail client's unsubscribe control — it is marked as unsubscribed the same minute and receives nothing further, and the marked record is kept only so that it cannot be re-added by mistake. It is deleted entirely on request to hello@rentalwe.net.

We do not collect anything else. There is no account, no profile, and no login.

Advertising cookies, specifically

This site carries advertising, which is what pays for it.

Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes it less relevant.

If you are visiting from a region that requires consent, you will be asked before any personalised advertising request is made, and your choice is remembered. You can change it at any time from the link in the footer.

Analytics

No analytics tool is in use on this site at the time of this review. We see traffic only in aggregate, through our hosting provider's request counts. If we add Google Analytics 4 later, this section will name it and its measurement ID, and it will run with IP anonymisation and Consent Mode v2 so that nothing is measured before you have chosen.

Where your data goes

This site is served from Amazon Web Services (S3 and CloudFront, region us-east-1, United States). Form submissions are processed there; newsletter addresses are processed by Resend, as described above. Advertising and analytics data is processed by the vendors named above, which may involve transfer outside your country.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Write to hello@rentalwe.net and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with the response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This site is written for adults operating rental property. It is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page when what we do changes, and the review date at the top will move. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for 30 days.
